Your whole PC, one keystroke away.
Summon is a lightning-fast command bar for Windows. Press Alt Space, type a few letters, hit Enter. Launch apps, do maths, convert units, dig up something you copied last week — without touching the mouse.
That’s Summon’s real search engine, running in your browser. Click it and type anything — vsc, sqrt(2)*100, 72f in c, :tada, ask why is the sky blue.
One bar that replaces a dozen clicks.
Stop hunting through the Start menu, opening Calculator, or scrolling back through chats for that thing you copied. Summon does it where you already are.
Launch anything in two keystrokes
Every app on your PC — desktop and Store — plus the files you opened recently. Type the start of a name, any word in it, or just the initials. Summon learns what you reach for and puts it first.
Maths as you type
Percentages, powers, roots, trig. The answer appears before you finish.
Clipboard history that’s actually searchable
Everything you copy, kept on your PC and searchable by any word. Pick one and it’s pasted straight into the app you were using. Password managers are skipped automatically.
Convert anything
Length, weight, temperature, volume, speed, data, time and area — plus colours in HEX, RGB and HSL.
Emoji in a blink
Type : and a word. Enter pastes it.
Timers & reminders
timer 25m focus or remind me in 10 min to stretch. You get a notification when it’s up.
Control your PC
Lock, sleep, restart, toggle dark mode, take a screenshot, empty the bin. Destructive ones always ask twice.
Search the web without opening a browser first
Start with a keyword to jump straight to results — or type a web address to open it.
Built for the keyboard
Every result has more to offer: press Ctrl K to run an app as administrator, open its file location, copy a path, or paste instead of copy.
Your PC. Your data. Full stop.
Summon doesn’t have an account system, a server, or analytics. Your clipboard history is a file on your own disk that you can clear with one click — and anything a password manager copies is never recorded.
Eight keys to learn. That’s it.
Good to know.
Is Summon really free?
Yes. It’s free and open source under the MIT licence. There’s no trial, no ads, and nothing to sign up for.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is it safe?
Summon is brand new and isn’t code-signed yet, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen hasn’t seen enough downloads to recognise it. Click More info → Run anyway to install. If Smart App Control is switched on, Windows may block unsigned apps entirely until a signed release is available. All of the source code is on GitHub for anyone to read.
Alt + Space doesn’t open Summon.
Another app (often PowerToys Run) already uses that shortcut. Summon will tell you when it can’t claim it — right-click the tray icon, open Settings, and record any shortcut you like.
Which versions of Windows does it support?
64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Does it slow my PC down?
Summon waits quietly in the system tray and only scans your apps when it starts and every so often after that. It checks the clipboard for new text a couple of times a second, which is a tiny amount of work. You can turn clipboard history off in Settings.
How do I uninstall it?
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Summon and choose Uninstall. To remove your clipboard history too, delete the %APPDATA%\Summon folder.
Stop clicking around. Summon it.
Free for Windows 10 & 11. Installs in seconds, lives in your tray.
